Warts | |
| Warts (Verrucae Plantaris) are
caused by a virus and are contagious. They may grow singularly or in
groups.
They are painful particularly on the bottom of the feet. Conservative treatments include topical medicines. If these treatments fail, the warts may be removed surgically. The wart is scooped out with a curette, a special surgical instrument. The base is then cauterized to discourage regrowth. Since warts are due to a virus they can recur. Your doctor will discuss your individual procedure, post operative care and possible complications with you prior to your surgery. If you have any questions please don not hesitate to ask your doctor. The more you know about what to expect, the more smoothly you foot surgery and recovery are likely to go. |
